Edward P. Mitchell – Narrator of the Story, Newspaperman (age – 40 +)
Frank P. Church – Newspaperman who writes the famous editorial response in the New York newspaper, grieving widower, drinker (age late 30s)
James O’Hanlon – Irish Immigrant, out of work dock worker, Father (age late 20’s – 30’s)
Dominic Donneli – out of work Dock worker, Father of Maria (30 -40))
Cliff – Sound &  Music Engineer / Announcer (20 +)
Sound Effects Man  – (Non-speaking) (actors can help make sound effects)
Evie O’Hanlon – Positive, kind Wife of James, Mother of 2 (late 20’s to 30’s)
Celeste Donneli/Wife – Sickly Wife of Dominic/Mother of Lost Child (age 30-40)
Andrea Borland – Female reporter (late 20’s – 30’s)
Cornelius Barrington /Announcer/Park Attendant–Newspaperman with the Chronicle & Others (age 30-40’s)
